9th Sept 2016 Daily Sense with Dr. Kinyanjui Nganga – Are you a Directional Leader?

✨True leaders are directional. They have no time for detours. They are not side tracked by secondly activity. They are their own raw material. If you know where you are going, you know which road will not take you there.

✨Everything is permissible but not everything is beneficial. Any leader worth his salt focuses. Focus is the ability to say NO. How many things can you master? Being broke is largely a factor of lack of direction. To be everywhere is to be nowhere.

✨Be selective. Focus on the important few and ignore the rest. Don’t spread yourself too thin. You are the director of your show and the script writer. The best way to predict your future is to create it. It is Jim Rohn who said, “You cannot change your destination overnight, but you can change your direction overnight.”

✨In leadership, selection is the name of the game. Identify the 20% that deliver 80% results. Learn to say NO. Make plans like an adult, believe like a child. Lead your gift.

Destiny = Design + Direction

✨There is an ancient saying that suggests it takes at least 10,000 hours to master a craft. To practice your game correctly 100 times is helpful; to practice it 1,000 times is game changing. To practice it 10,000 times is life changing.

💡In the words of Bruce Lee, “I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.”

✨Tiger Woods practices on the golf course 7 to 8 hours daily. CR7 practices on the soccer field 3 to 4 hours daily coupled with several running sessions of 25-30 mins each. It took 2 years to produce Michael Jackson’s Thriller, the best-selling album of all times that won 8 record-breaking Grammy awards and sold in excess of 65 million copies. Mark Zukkerberg spends 50-60 hours a week on computers.

✨The harder you work the harder it is to surrender. You can only focus after you find your place. Discover your tree (find your place/purpose). It is Ben Hogan who joked, “There isn’t enough daylight in any one day to practice all the shots you need to.”

Let’s Engage: How many hours do you spend EVERY-DAY cutting your one and only tree?
