A Call to Pray for Families

Sense 101 Life Club family, today I make a solemn invitation for each one of us to pray for all families presented in Sense 101 Life Club.

A Call to Pray for Families

That families are in dire threat is in no doubt. It is equally clear to all of us that the family unit is the very fabric that blends a nation together.

When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do – Psalms 11:3?

Perhaps the main foundation that is being destroyed is the family.

As an individual, what is your response to that timeless question by the Psalmist? The family foundation is being shaken by alcoholism, drug addiction, homosexuality, divorce, rebellion from children, explicit porn materials in social media, affairs and materialism among others.

In my devotion time, I asked the Lord for revelatory knowledge to identify the missing link. Why is it that people are more knowledgeable about families that we were 100 years ago yet there seems to be more relational related suffering today? While this question can raise endless debate, the real missing link is prayer.

Intellectualism and rationalism cannot confront strongholds. While I will continue to zealously instil life skills in our generation, no amount of head learning will ultimately transform the hearts of men.

The life skills I teach empower you intellectually. This helps you make the right choices in life. It opens the eyes of your understanding on your human responsibility for your personal success in life. And since there are numerous demotivators out there, to safeguard your personal progress, you need continuous inspiration to counter the daily negativity around you.

I expect, however, your spiritual homes to feed you spiritually and no doubt that is happening. Nonetheless, we as a family, Sense 101 Life Club, cannot afford to make that blanket assumption that each one of us is deliberate on the role prayers play in our lives. I put it to you today that prayer is not only a spiritual discipline but also a life skill. For only Christ is a prayer away wherever you are. He is that friend who sticks closer than a brother – Prov 18:24. Some brothers will forfeit you in adversity.

We live in a society where some people introduce children to drugs, alcoholism, premarital sex and homosexuality. Jesus warned, “But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large milestone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea – Math 18:6.”

Last week, there was an invitation to a Lesbian party. About two months ago, there was an intention for another party, “Project X.” All targeting our children. Such invitations will increase. These things were prophesied by Christ Himself, “Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to sin! Such things must come, but woe to the man through whom they come! – Math 18:7”

While these things must happen, be warned that you don’t become an inventor or an agent of these sins. Teach your children as well not to fall prey of the curses of God.

That said, be careful not to hate gold diggers, alcoholics, drug addicts, homosexuals and rapists. They are in bondage. They need your help. With lots of love, invite them to our forum this week Friday the 5th Aug 2016 @KICC. Who knows whether they will be transformed by listening to the message, “Where are Our Fathers?” For it is written, “Faith comes from hearing the message – Rom 10:17”

Many of us have been victims of various struggles. Some among us are still struggling with various aspects that threaten tearing down our homes. We are all work in progress. That is why we should never Judge others lest we too get judged – Math 7:1. At the same time, however, we should not justify sinful living – 1 John 3:3-9. For the wages of sin is death – Rom 6:23.

The invitation of Jesus is unprecedented in human history, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest – Math 11:28”

Is it possible you feel the heavy burden over your family or loved ones close to you? Is it possible your personal struggles with sinful living is threatening to tear down your family?

In today’s Daily Challenge, I invite you, if you can, to briefly share with us a prayer item that is close to your heart on behalf of either your family or a close member of your family or even on your own behalf. There is a team that is praying and fasting today for you. Standing in the gap on your behalf.

All we are asking you is to take that step of faith and take that heavy burden to the feet of Jesus. “For where two or three come together in my Name, there am I with them – Math 18:20. Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven – Math 18:18.”

With Love,
