Is God Really Involved?
During the Presidential campaign, President Tancredo Neves of Brazil said if he got 500,000 votes from his party, not even God would remove him from the Presidency. Sure he got the votes, but he got sick a day before inauguration and died. In 1996, Singer John Lennon, after saying that Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ, was shot six times.
During a show in Canecio Rio de Janeiro, Cazuza, a Bi-intimate Brazilian composer, singer and poet, while smoking his cigarette, he puffed out some smoke into the air and said: ‘God, that’s for you.’ The man died at the age of 32 of LUNG CANCER in an awful manner. Most of us will recall that the chief engineer of the Titanic, on successful completion of the mega project, said, not even God can sink it…
I will never forget reading the story of Actress Marilyn Monroe who was visited by Billy Graham who told her that the Spirit of God had sent him to preach to her. After hearing what the preacher had to say, she said: ‘I don’t need your Jesus’. A week later, she was found dead in her apartment. In one of his 1979 songs, Bon Scott sang: ‘Don’t stop me; I’m going down all the way, down the highway to hell’, On the 19th of February 1980, he was found dead, he had been choked by his own vomit.
Jamaican Journalist and entertainer, Christine Hewitt, said the Bible was the worst book ever written. In June 2006 she was found burnt beyond recognition in her motor vehicle. And the list is endless of consequences of people who mocked God…yet Gal 6:7 warns us, “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.”
While I recognize some people who will read this article may dismiss it as a scare crow strategy to make them fear God, I have the obligation not only to warn my FB fans against mocking God, but perhaps even more importantly, to let them know that God is involved in all nitty gritties in our lives and hence we ought to submit to His authority for it to be well with us in our earthly pilgrimage and eventually to enter eternal rest when our short mortal life ceases.
World-renowned crusader for Darwinism and atheism, Prof. Richard Wawkins, stated: “We have seen that living things are too improbable and too beautifully “designed” to have come into existence by chance.” By admitting that everything exists by design, then even the most ardent atheist conceded that God is behind every detail in our lives and the universe at large. I therefore appeal that we see, appreciate, acknowledge and accept God’s gift of eternal life, Jesus Christ, for us to live a fulfilled life of purpose.
