Emotional Intelligence – The Art of Winning With Others
The greatest factor in winning in life is NOT one’s Intelligence Quotient (I.Q.), academic prowess, capital outlay, technical know-how nor hard-work BUT Emotional Intelligence (E.Q.), argues Dr. Kinyanjui Nganga, the leading motivational speaker, mentor and life coach in Africa. This is because, he continues, business is done by people, for people and through people. To win in any field of life, therefore, Kinyanjui argues that you must seek to understand others rather than to be understood.
We need to protect people’s egos, genuinely connect with others and learn how to communicate effectively with others. In addition, we must be active listeners, empathize with others and look for the good in others and not be fault finders. This can only be achieved by learning to respond in difficult situations rather than reacting in addition to believing in other people’s abilities since no enterprise can thrive if it depended upon geniuses for its creation.
