Wed 7th Sept 2016 Daily Sense with Dr. Kinyanjui Nganga – Are you a Composed Leader?

✨Even though pilots don’t see when it’s very foggy, they don’t stop through the turbulence. They press on. Leaders must manage their emotional state. Emotional imbalance is not tolerable for leaders. Never lose your cool. An isolated incidence made Moses miss the Promised Land.

✨As a leader, you will be castigated in public limelight. You’ll be analyzed and scandalized even when you are not in the wrong. You must develop the ability for aloneness when all others desert you. Never quit.

✨Promotion is a factor of your ability to bear pain. When you complain that you can’t take it anymore; in essence what you are saying is that you don’t want leadership. Leadership is dealing with higher challenges. When they promote you in the corporate world, they assign you and pay you more to handle higher challenges.

✨We live in days where people quit due to a minor irritation. You can’t be baby sat and be a leader at the same time. You can’t lead till you learn how to endure and weather the turbulences of the commoner and deal with the storms of the mighty.

✨Not all projects will succeed. As a leader, you must develop the capacity to handle pain. Success reveals your failures. Each failure is less painful and leaves you stronger. You’ve got to come out better, not bitter (despite backlash from those you serve).

✨Despite His divinity, Jesus endured contempt, derision, disdain, mockery, ridicule and scorn from mere mortals. But He never betrayed his composure. Whenever faced by contradictions, consider Him who endured such a great contradiction.

Let’s Engage: Have you lost composure as a leader and felt like you’ve lost it all?
