When Sex Hurts…
Monday last week, the Kenyan courts ordered the registration of a human rights group representing the country’s gay people.
In Kenya, the Constitution is supreme,” stated the ruling of Judges Isaac Lenaola, Mumbi Ngugi and George Odunga. The judges said the state “cannot rely on religious texts or its views of what the moral and religious convictions of Kenyans are to justify the limitation of a right.”
Gays and lesbians want us to believe that sex is purely physical. “What’s the big deal?”, they argue. If sex is just physical, why then does unfaithfulness hurt? It hurts because sex is both emotional and spiritual. When a man and a woman make love, they release oxytocin – hormonal chemicals for connection. Oxytocin bonds the involved pair. That’s why scriptures emphasis sex is a preserve within marriage where emotional protection can be guaranteed.
Every so often in human history, we are called upon to stand for something. Most people don’t. Courage means you need to take a stand that may not be popular. Cowards want to fit in every going trend. They fear going against the grain. Styles go out of style. No revolution lasts. Values do. Cultures come and go. They rise and fall. It is not necessary to be culturally right. It isn’t even right to be on the right side of history. Just be on the right side – timeless values.
Friends, the only way to remain relevant is to be eternal. Anything that is not eternal will eventually run out of style. The only eternal thing is the Word of God. It changes not. And what does it state…male and female, created He them (acknowledges that gender is God’s idea)…a man shall leave his father and mother and be cleaved to his wife (not to his other man…and not to many other women. But, one man, one woman – God’s original intent).
Respond now to this historic call. Stand up to be counted to have made a contribution in your generation. If you will influence the next generation, you must be on social media – that’s where they are found. Let’s keep this debate alive by making our lamps light on the hill top. The lamps of truth. So that we may safeguard truth and faithfully deliver eternal values to our children’s children.
Evil prevails when good people do nothing about it. Martin Niemöller (1892–1984), a prominent Protestant pastor who emerged as an outspoken public foe of Adolf Hitler and spent the last seven years of Nazi rule in concentration camps said:
“First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.”
Will you stand up and be counted in our current moral struggle as a nation to protect the purity of family for generations to come? Or, will you take the easier path of passiveness and witness Kenya, our beloved country, be part of global statistics of fallen moralists like the U.S. and Europe? I will make my contribution through social media, public meetings and any other avenue including one-on-one, especially with the youth. That’s why I will be speaking these values to form four girls in Kenya High School this coming Saturday. You too, don’t give in. Stand for eternal values.
